LG’s awesome foldable rollable Bluetooth keyboard, the imaginatvely named ‘Rolly Keyboard’ caused quite a stir when it was announced last year. LG never got around to launching the keyboard in Australia, but they’ve announced a second, slightly improved model.
The new version, called the Rolly Keyboard 2, has a 5 row keyboard as opposed to the first keyboards 4-row layout. The keyboard with the larger layout – it’s also an octagon pentagon shape when rolled up rather than a square – is also larger with a 274 × 31.7 × 30.7 mm footprint and weighs in at a slightly heavier 161 grams.
The Rolly Keyboard 2 is again powered by a single AAA battery and is compatible with both Android and iOS devices, as well as Windows (v7 and above) and Mac (OS X 10.7 and above) desktop devices.
We had some brief hands-on time with the gen 1 Rolly Keyboard at IFA in Germany, and while it wasn’t perfect, it was a pretty decent keyboard and the rolled-up, compact form factor meant it slips into a go bag quite easily.
LG has announced pricing for the Rolly Keyboard 2 at 129,000 Won or almost $150AUD ($146.22 to be exact). No launch details have been announced outside of Korea, but we’ve checked in with LG Australia in the hope we may see this one hit our shores.
Would you use the LG Rolly Keyboard 2?
One minor correction: an octagon has eight sides. This rolls up to a pentagon shape.
Probably shouldn’t have been watching UFC Fight Night while writing this!
