Samsung’s global announcement of the Gear Fit2 was just the other day, and it looks as if it will be in Australia very soon, perhaps even from today, according to news we’ve just received from Samsung. Compatible with a range of devices, including the Galaxy S7 range, Galaxy S6 range and Galaxy Note 5, the Gear Fit2 will be available from select retailers from $289.
For those needing a bit of a reminder, the Gear Fit2 includes the following features:
- Notification support (SMS, Calls, E-Mail, apps and calendar)
- Stand alone Music player (with local file support)
- Fitness tracking
- Heart rate monitoring
- Distance traveled
- Pace
- Route traveled (via GPS)
- Calories burned
- Automatic activity detection for 15 activities (including Exercise bike, Step machine, Treadmill, Pilates, Yoga, Lunges, Crunches, Squats and more)
We’re not sure which “select retailers” are included in this, but I’d assume that you might find the Gear Fit2 in the usual places you might find Samsung products. You can probably go look in JB HiFi, Harvey Norman, carrier stores, and of course, Samsung’s Experience stores in Sydney and Melbourne.
