The influx of officially ported Android apps on ChromeOS has begun, what started with four launch apps, nearly doubled on Thursday with three new additions, and overnight has now turned into a torrent with four new Android apps appearing in the Chrome Web Store.
The new apps as usual rely on the Android Runtime for Chrome plugin, which you’ll need to download before you can launch any of the apps. The four apps launched today include Clarisketch, Web2go, Remind and Lensoo Create
- Clarisketch – Creating messages by combining speech, drawing and photos.
- Web2go – Innovative news app that lets you listen to your own choice of news websites and magazines ! Listen to your news selected content.
- Remind – Remind (formerly Remind101) offers teachers a free, safe and simple way to instantly text students and parents.
- Lensoo Create – Lensoo Create turns your Chromebook into a virtual whiteboard with voice recording, video and smooth digital writing.
So, it appears there’s a heavily influenced lean towards productivity apps in this release. The apps aren’t compatible with every ChromeOS device, so it’s sort of hit and miss at the moment.
