Samsung is rumoured to be bringing their successor to their high-end Galaxy Tab S tablets next month. With an imminent launch on the cards, it looks like the press renders have made it into the public arena ahead of the launch.
Steve Hemmerstoffer from Nowhereelse.fr, who runs the leak focused twitter account @onleaks has dropped the render of the tablet, in hopes it will drive users to his pay-for-leak Twitter site.
The Galaxy Tab S2 is rumoured to arrive next month – most likely in two screen sizes (8″ and 9.7″) just as the original Tab S tablets came in, with another high resolution display (2048×1536) expected on the S2. There will be both LTE and WiFi-only models being launched, though they will head to different markets based on demand.
The render above appears to be the 8″ LTE model, due to the portrait design and what appears to be a microSD card slot and SIM Tray at the side.
In terms of under the hood power, Samsung’s 64-bit Exynos architecture will power the tablet, with 3GB of RAM along for the ride. Storage wise, 32GB of on-board storage will come, though a 64GB model is rumoured – but both will have a microSD card slot to add additional storage. The Galaxy Tab S2 will apparently come with an 8MP rear-facing camera, and a 2.1MP front-facing camera as well.
Jason quite liked the original Tab S models with their high-resolution displays and incredibly thin profile, we hope the S2 will be just as great to use.
