TunnelBear
Rawwwr! Put a Bear in your browser! That’s the tag line for well known VPN service TunnelBear who have finally launched their own Chrome Extension. We’ve previously shown how to integrate TunnelBear’s VPN service into your ChromeOS setup, but now it gets a lot easier with this Chrome extension.

TunnelBear for Chrome is a limited free service which provides a VPN tunnel to get around the usual geo-restrictions, website tracking and keeps you safe while you’re using a public wi-fi hotspot. It’s not quite as big as other VPN services with exit nodes in only 14 countries, but it does include the big ones like the US and UK. TunnelBear offers you a free 1GB of traffic every month and then offers you options to sign up for more.

In this day and age of metadata retention by the Australian government, you’d be mad not to be using some sort of VPN service. PureVPN is of course our choice with their 2 years for the price of one service, but TunnelBear is definitely worth a look.

TunnelBear Chrome extension is available now in the Chrome Webstore for free, it’s pretty straight forward to install and then sign up for – try it out and see what you think.
