ASUS is now confirmed to be launching their Chromebook Flip 2 very soon, and most likely at CES 2017 this week, with Chrome enthusiasts ChromeUnboxed going hands-on with a retail unit, giving us a look at the device before it’s even announced. We did see the original version of the Chromebook Flip here in Australia, so there’s a reasonable chance the second generation will come here too. Either way, Dan will see it in the states this week as part of CES, and will bring us all the details.

In the meantime though, we have these specs, and this video. The ASUS Chromebook Flip 2 features as 12.5-inch display at 1080p, with a 360 degree hinge to allow the Chromebook to be used as a laptop and a tablet. Inside is a Intel Core m3 processor, 4GB of RAM, 32GB storage, fully backlit keyboard, metal design and USB-C ports for charging and accessories. Based on this — and this alone — this is an appealing device.

With US pricing predicted around the $499 mark, Australian pricing is likely to be quite a bit more; anywhere up to $799 would be my guess, and possibly even more than that. Until we know more, sit back, enjoy the unboxing video and let us know what you think.
