Samsung typically announces a few major smartphones in the first quarter of each year, with the Galaxy S range seeing its flagship unveil around February / March. In 2019, there’s already rumours of a foldable smartphone, the company’s first 5G smartphone, and now, a new mid-range tablet as well.
There’s a new Galaxy Tab A in development and coming soon, according to a report from 91Mobiles. As a mid-range tablet, 32GB storage is the starting point, in standard black and gray options. It’s unclear – though you’d have to consider it likely – whether Samsung will launch the new Tab A tablet with Android 9 Pie.
As for a timeframe, the report suggests we could see a launch at Mobile World Congress 2019 at Samsung’s traditional press-day event, though we could see it pushed back a little to March, when Samsung has typically held follow-up events to announce other products.
With a foldable phone, 5G handsets, new Galaxy S10 handsets and this new Galaxy Tab A device, the first couple of months of 2019 are looking to be pretty busy for Samsung.
