The undeniable popularity of the original Nexus 5 will feature in the upcoming launch of the 2015, LG built Nexus 5X, according to this latest leak which says the ‘The all-round champ is back’. The latest leak gives us a full spec sheet for the phone and confirms marketing buzz, specs, and colour options for the phone.
The phone specs have been rumoured and confirmed for a few weeks now, but the Snapdragon 808 S0C powering the phone has been a common theme, as well as the now ‘confirmed’ 2GB of RAM, 5.2″ FullHD (1920×1080) resolution screen:
There is a bit of focus on the camera which will feature a 12.3MP Laser Auto-focus rear camera with f/2.0 aperture and 1.55µm sensor, while the front camera will have a 5MP sensor with 1.4µm sensor – both of which as Google points out in their promo is designed to let in more light:
The fingerprint sensor and size get a specific mention in the other parts of the leak, with Google saying the 5.2″ size ‘hits the sweet spot'”
There’s other promo material which seems to be backing up what we already knew including the Marshmallow launch, Google Apps and of course the interesting tidbit confirming updates for 2 years – which can take up to 2 weeks to reach your device – in the fine print:
You can check out the full dump of the leak on Imgur but that’s the gist – now we have to wait for the details on how to order it.
Could not find anything on the battery or charging
No storage= no deal. Moto x or lg g4 for me
Yup. 32 might be acceptable for the wife or kids, but I already have a 32GB + 32GB SD. And I’m constantly cleaning stuff off even then…
Only if this phone accommodated a MicroSD card 🙁
According AP, the price of the 16GB version is $380, which is $545 for us (assuming they don’t increase it). It will be available for pre-order from tomorrow in the US, UK, Korea, Japan and Ireland. No Australia. It seems we may be waiting longer and also paying too much.
Good specs!
What’s a “Hall Sensor”?
Solid state Magnetic field sensor – eg compass or just screen off
Typically used for those smart covers
Nothing says “buy me” there. Feels more like an iPhone release.
No SD card and minimal storage = boring
