If you’re an Ausdroid reader, there’s a good chance you’re something like us, and that would include super keen on finding out when the Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P go on sale in Australia.
Last year we ran something that became quite popular: the Nexus 6 Release watcher. This year, we’re doing the same thing. We’ve got Ausdroid’s server keeping an eye on the Google Store for Australia, and every minute its checking the Google Store page to look for signs that the Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P have gone on sale.
At the moment, as last year, the Store says only “Coming Soon”. By our logic, when it no longer says “Coming Soon”, it’s quite likely on sale. So, if you want to get notified, there’s two steps.
First, install PushBullet:
Make sure you install and setup the app completely before going on with step two; create an account if you don’t already have one (you can use your Google account), and make sure the test notification works.
Second, subscribe to our channel:
Simply click the link below on your desktop or mobile browser, sign in to PushBullet using your account details, and you’ll be subscribed to our channel.
Once you’re subscribed, you’ll get push notifications from Ausdroid through PushBullet within a minute of the Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P going on sale. Please note that this notification is not guaranteed, but we make our best endeavours to let you know as soon as possible that the Nexus phones have gone on sale here. Due to the way the server checks for stock availability, it’ll only trigger once … and there shouldn’t be false positives.
Keep an eye out on Ausdroid too, because our header bar will immediately let you know once the Nexus phones are on sale.
Hey Chris I know demand isn’t anywhere near as high but any chance the Pushbullet channel can be used to notify when the 128GB (and by extension 32GB) models become available on Play Store?
So if you aren’t signed into Google and go the store page it says that both the Nexus 5x and 6P aren’t available in this country.
Got a lot of useless notification this morning.
Thrilling update from PushBullet at 6:41 this morning. The 5X is….Coming soon.
Any new pointers to when they will release these on the google store? was hoping for the 19th but…. 🙁
who said the two Nexuses will release today in Australia? I suspect the source of truth. Yes, I just read a news Nexus 5X release in a couple of EU countries today but no Australia.
As if to rub salt in the wounds a lot of first impressions are trickling out now. On the bright side…..helps in decision making process
I don’t understand how Apple is capable of selling everything at the same time everywhere. Even Microsoft with the SurfaceBook, its already available for purchase here… Meanwhile with Google. #JustGiveMeMyNexus
The world is a cruel and unjust place.
First world problem.
Hey, I didn’t wake up at 2am to buy a phone.
@Ausdroid, still no idea about when it will release in Australia? Google is really bad at selling products. big mess
I really thought I was going to wake up this morning and be able to place an order for a 6P. :'(
Me too. 🙁
Nothing yet…
Google is bad at taking people’s money:
Woke up 2am.
Hoping to snap up 2 x N6P 128GB Graphite.
Disappointed.
I feel your pain.
Preorder the Nexus 5X, 6P and buy the 6, 7, 9 and more at great prices, visit now
Is there a solid price on the units? I would like to buy a 64gb 6p but I keep reading different prices. What would one of the 64gb 6p models cost?
$999
Ahhh, I’m going to wake up tomorrow morning and see that pre-orders are open for the 5X. And I’ll pull out my Mastercard and do it. And then… masses of regrets that I didn’t wait for the 6. And, oh god, the Rates are due in a few days. And the car needs a service…. etc.
And also realise the battery is still crap, and you can still cook a sausage on them 🙂
So will that tell you the time they went on sale and the time the were sold out? 🙂
I will also do Page2Rss + IFTTT
We should note the one thing we’re not doing this year is separate notifications for each storage capacity; we’ve got two monitors, one for Nexus 5X, one for Nexus 6P. We’ve not broken it down any further than that.
Subscribed.
Hopefully 128 GB goes on sale.
Does anyone know if we will have to pay import duties on the nexus phones over a $1000?
If Customs picks it up, yes you probably will.
Thanks
None of the Nexus phones individually work out to over $1000 AUD. The most expensive Nexus the 128GB Nexus 6P at US$649 works out to $892.96AUD currently, so there’s that.
Thanks for response but isn’t that assuming pricing is based on a straight usd to aud exchange without additional mark-ups? I can’t remember if this has been the case in previous years. Thanks again.
Can you clarify if you’re talking about purchasing from the US or AU?
Sorry should have been more clear…was going to get them on the AU play store when they become available
Nexus 6P….re-order. Hopefully happens tomorrow.
Thanks as always guys! Do we still reckon it’ll be tomorrow?
Pre-sale tomorrow is possible; it’s what LG have said previously.
I’ll try it again but it didn’t work last year.
We’ll keep an eye on it this year Dennis; it — should — trigger this year when the Coming Soon disappears from the various pages. We do our best 😉
Thanks 🙂
Thanks for this! It’s painstaking without any Aussie news about the Nexus 5 & 6P, so this is the next best step 🙂
