Be careful however, some prices aren’t exactly cheap.
I chucked my Fitbit Charge HR into the trash can.
Fitbit heart rate monitor (HRM) was not very accurate even if positioned slightly above the wrist.
I’m a serious runner and do 1/2 marathon every Saturday, and 5km every day.
The most accurate optical HRM I have found that rivals that of the accuracy of a chest strap is the Scosche RHYTHM+ armband that you put high above your arm just below the elbow. I got it from JB for $99. I’ll never go back to HR wristbands or chest straps again.

To get a accurate reading on the HR, you have to have the band firm around your wrist. So when I do exercise, I tighten the strap up a bit, and the back it off when I’m done.
Also what a waste to toss a $150-199 (depending you you brought it) band in the bin!!

Maybe I wasn’t using the Fitbit HR correctly.
At one point I was wearing Fitbit HR, Scosche HR and chest strap bluetooth. Scosche mirrored the statistics of my chest strap, but fitbit was just all over the place. Funnily enough I wasn’t the only one having problems with the accuracy of Fitbit HR. DC Rainmaker had a review of it too and determined that it’s not as accurate has your run of the mill chest strap.
Oh I approve of your ‘bin’ then 😉 Yes the HR is all over the place if its lose fitting with lots of ‘gap’ under the HR monitor. You need to do it up tight, and its normally pretty good. Mine is within ~3-5 beats of the gym gear. Like most reviews, I also find the device ‘lags’ in reporting. So if you go from a resting HR, jump up and down it will take a while for the heart rate to come up on the device. It seems to have a lot of averaging in there. Its laggy, but… Read more »
Also notice the Kogan one’s only 1GB/8GB; so, no bargain.
Notice Kogan is selling the Motorola Moto G 3rd Gen XT1541 for $249 (vs $270 fro the Good Guys after the 20% discount).
Unfortunately the XT1541 doesn’t see to support many of Optus’ frequencies 🙁
No Kogan this time? That limits the choice of handsets.
