Last year Smartwatches took IFA, the annual Consumer Electronics trade show held in Germany, by storm, and we’re hoping this year it will follow that trend. The Samsung Gear S2 was one of the bid devices launched, and according to the latest rumours, it looks as if Samsung will be showing off its successor at this year’s IFA Berlin in September.
The Gear S3 will feature the same rotating bezel as last years design, meaning it will stick with the more popular round design. Running Tizen OS the Gear S2 had limited interoperability across the Android ecosystem. However, the latest Gear Fit has broken away from it’s ‘galaxy lock in’ and opened up compatibility to most Android Devices above Android 4.4.
If the Gear S3 adopt this wider interoperability, maintain it’s great build quality and improve on the overall experience it could be a serious competitor to Google’s own Android Wear.
