IFA, the European consumer electronics show, is due to kick off at the beginning of September, Press Day usually happens on the day before and the press invites are heading out. The press invite for the event says that the event will likely feature a new device that will ‘Defy Expectations’.
The event is scheduled for 10:30am CEST in Berlin – that’s 1 September 2016 at 6:30PM AEST for those playing at home. The invite shows the outline of what’s clearly a phone, widely believed to be the Huawei Mate 9, the successor to last years Force Touch packing Mate 8.
The Mate 9 is rumoured to be launching with a 5.9″ 1080P screen, Kirin 960 chipset, 4GB of RAM and 64GB of onboard storage. Camera wise the rumours point to a 11MP rear-facing camera with 7MP front-facing camera – but this is all rumour at this stage, and until the event we won’t know for sure.
We’ll be following along with the launch through the Huawei Twitter account.
If its 5.9″ that’s too big for me.
