Samsung Australia has announced a new sporting sponsorship deal today, becoming the naming sponsor of the Australian women’s netball team the Diamonds.
Samsung has been involved with Netball Australia since their partnership last year with the Rethink Role Models campaign. As well as becoming the Diamonds naming sponsor, they will become the innovation partner of Netball Australia, Suncorp Super Netball, Fast5 Netball World Series, as well as a supporter of grassroots netball through to elite teams across Netball Queensland, Victoria and New South Wales as part of the deal.
Netball in Australia has seen a massive resurgence in popularity this year with the launch of the Suncorp Super Netball series. Samsung sponsored the Sunshine Coast Lightning netball team who took out the inaugural Super Netball series this year.
Holly Adams, Head of Brand Partnerships, Samsung Australia, said:
Netball is one of the most engaged, passionate community-driven activities that brings together millions of Australians each week. Samsung is committed to supporting the sport at its highest level, as well as through grassroots activity through teams and communities around Australia. Breakthrough experiences, partnerships, and collaboration are at the heart of how Samsung applies our innovation to support our customers and partners alike. We look forward to undertaking this journey with the Samsung Diamonds, Netball Australia, and the sport’s incredibly passionate audiences.
The Diamonds will be going into their annual squad camp this week in Canberra, and will be provided with training kit by Samsung. Part of the training will be using the Samsung Gear 360 camera to help the trainers and management of the team to review performances of players.
End result, is if you’re watching Netball, you’ll be seeing more Samsung on the screen. Look out for it at the next Australian Diamonds match which will be in Brisbane against the England Roses on the 26th of August.
