We’ve seen several exciting new speakers from Onkyo, Panasonic, Sony, Mobvoi and more with Google Assistant built-in at IFA this week, but Marshall are bucking the trend announcing a set of multi-room audio speakers with Chromecast support.
There are three speakers in the range, the Acton ($349USD), the Stanmore ($449USD) and the Woburn ($599USD). The speakers have the distinctive Marshall look including industrial style knobs on the top, as well as great Marshall sound quality.
The Acton and Stanmore are available to pre-order now in the US, with the Woburn coming soon. The smallest speaker, the Acton is designed for bookshelves, while the larger Stanmore is aimed at room level sound. The Woburn is the big one, with dual 5.25″ woofers and 110 watts of power which Marshall says will hit ‘high treblescleanly, handles low bass with ease and has a clear, lifelike mid range.’
The three speakers all include a 3.5mm jack, but the larger Stanmore and Woburn speakers also come with an RCA jack to complement the wireless connectivity.
For Wirelesss, the new speakers will support Spotify Connect and Apple’s Airplay in addition to Chromecast and of course Bluetooth. They also support multi-room audio using Marshall’s Wireless Multi-Room System which lets you control your music through the Marshall app available on Android and iOS.
At this stage we can only see US availability. The speakers do show up on the Marshall Australia website, though with US pricing.
