HTC’s One M9 is set to get a tasty treat in the coming months with Optus announcing they’re currently testing the Oreo update for the handset.

The One M9 was the last in the ‘One’ series for HTC, with the handset launching with Lollipop (Android 5.0), and has since gone through Android M and N updates as well. The update to Android O is a very welcome update for owners, having gone through two updates and now looking down the barrel of a third, it’s a pretty major achievement for the company.

The update will likely include all the Oreo goodies including improved notification controls, picture-in-picture support for video, app notification dots and, according to the Optus update a patch for the KRACK Wi-Fi vulnerability found late last year.

The update is set to roll out in late Feb/early March. If you’re a One M9 owner, sing out when you see the update starting to arrive on your handset.

If this is legit and i have my doubts then well done Htc for updating a phone that’s 3 years old. This will also help in the development in lineage os 15.1 hopefully
