Google’s Pixel line has been announced on October 4th for the last two year, but that’s set to change this year with a new report pointing to an event taking place on October 9th in New York City.
The report if from Mark Gurman of Bloomberg, a noted source for Apple leaks who has posted the info in a seemingly throwaway line in a report on Apple’s expected upcoming devices, saying:
Alphabet Inc.’s Google also plans to debut new Pixel phones on Oct. 9 at a media event in New York City, other people familiar with the plans said. A Google spokeswoman declined to comment.
Previously an entry in Famebit, a social media influencer marketing platform used by YouTube was pointing at yet another October 4th event.
This year, as well as the very much leaked Pixel 3 XL, we expect to see a smaller Pixel 3 as well as a second generations of their Pixel Buds and a Pixelbook with slimmer bezels and possibly even a detachable tablet model, and even a Google branded Pixel Watch (or 3).
Google has not yet begun inviting press to the event as yet, and given it’s over a month away we probably won’t see anything for a little while yet. Google has previously hyped their ‘Made by Google’ events so expect plenty of warning when they do.
