ZTE has a massive success with the Axon 7 not just around the world but in particularly here in Australia. It has been a while since the Axon 7 was released and while ZTE have been fighting a battle on a different front they have also been working on the Axon 7 successor. At IFA this year they announced it, the Axon 9 Pro.
The ZTE Axon 9 Pro (there is no Axon 9, just the Pro it seems at this stage) is a high end handset with some great specs as you would expect from a company that released the Axon 7 which had amazing specs at an incredible price.
The Axon 9 Pro will sport a 6.21 inch 18.7:9 FHD_ AMOLED display with the 2018 notch. It will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 CPU with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage with a microSD slot to expand the memory another 128GB. The battery will be a decent 4000mAh, charged using Quick Charge 4.0 as well as wireless charging.
The cameras will be a dual 12MP and 20MP rear camera system with a 20MP front-facing camera. Along with NFC, stereo speakers and an IP68 rating it will feature a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner and Dolby Atmos sound.
ZTE have priced this at €649, which sits right around the flagship level for most phones (the Huawei P20 Pro is slightly more expensive at its RRP). The Axon 9 Pro ticks nearly every box we could think of when it comes to a flagship and what we want for it so expect it to be priced at that level.
At this stage it is unknown if it will make it down to Australia but ZTE were contacted for comment they told us that they were currently reviewing the followup device for the successful Axon 7 but were unclear if this was going to be the Axon 9 Pro.
We will bring you more information once we have some form of confirmation from ZTE.
Kudos to the flat camera, I don’t understand why more manufacturers don’t make the camera lens flat with the case to prevent it from getting damaged and scratched…
