It seems the day with budget smartphone news, and up next is Aspera Mobile launching a new 4G dual-SIM smartphone for just $99.
The Aspera Mobile Jazz 2 at $99 includes a 5-inch display, dual-SIM capability with 4G and is aimed at the youth and mature markets where price matters.
Aspera Mobile’s MD Allan Robertson said:
“Not everyone has thousands to spend on high-end smartphones and to be honest not everyone has to. More and more customers have been questioning us about when the 3G networks will close, so with the Jazz 2 we wanted to provide the best value 4G package we could with the latest version of Android at this low price point.”
While there are some headline features for the price – dual-SIM 4G is unheard of at this price point – there are some compromises to get it there. For example, the processor isn’t going to set the world alight, and 1GB of RAM and a 1,900 mAh battery might not be all that inspiring.
However, for the true budget conscious consumer, this probably won’t matter too much. This phone is ideally priced for those who need to stay in touch, with the key smart features users want – emails, casual browsing and the like.
Running Android 9.0 Go, the Aspera Mobile Jazz 2 should be kept up to date with security patches directly from Google, and the lightweight versions of Google’s apps will also be available to help users make the most of the 16GB on-board storage (of which about 12GB is available to the user).
The new Jazz 2 smartphone is available now and can be purchased for just $99 at Big W, Harvey Norman, BP, Retravision and MobileCiti.
