At CES 2020 overnight Aukey has shown off five new chargers which can offer up to 100W dual-port PD called the Omnia series.

The new Omnia series of gallium nitride-based wall chargers are believed to be able to offer up to 100W charging through dual-port USB Power Delivery. The company has also stated that the new Omnia series of wall chargers are smaller and lighter than most stock chargers currently on the market.

The series also come with a new OmniaChip ICS built into all five of the chargers that are being shown at the tech event conference in Las Vegas, and that the use of Gallium Nitride (GaN) will enable increased switching speeds and power savings for users.

The series also include Aukey’s Dynamic Detect technology for increasing charging efficiency.

The five chargers unveiled at CES are:

  • Omnia 61W PD Wall Charger – which is a single USB Type-C port. It accepts AC 100V-240V 50/60Hz input. It can output a maximum of 61W through USB Power Delivery 3.0, in DC 5V/3A, 9V/3A, 12V/3A, 15V/3A, and 20.3V/3A combinations.
  • Omnia 65W Dual-port PD Wall Charger – comes with 2 ports, a single USB Type-C port and a standard USB Port. It accepts AC 100V-240V 50/60Hz input. The USB Type-C port can output a maximum of 60W through USB Power Delivery 3.0, in DC 5V/3A, 9V/3A, 12V/2.5A, 15V/3A, and 20V/3A combinations. The USB Type-A port can output DC 5V/2.4A. The charger caps out at 65W.
  • Omnia 65W Dual-port PD Wall Charger – comes with 2 ports which are USB Type-C. It accepts AC 100V-240V 50/60Hz input with the top USB Type-C port outputting a maximum of 18W through USB Power Delivery, in 5V/3A, 9V/2A, and 12V/1.5A combinations. The bottom Type-C port can output a maximum of 60W through USB Power Delivery in 5V/3A, 9V/3A, 12V/3A, 15V/3A, and 20V/3A combinations. The charger does cap out at 65W.
  • Omnia 100W PD Wall Charger and Dual-port PD Wall Charger – sadly Aukeys hasn’t provided much details on these chargers but what we do know is that one of these chargers comes with a single USB Type-C port, and is 54 x 54 x 30 mm in size. The other comes with two USB Type-C ports, and is 56 x 56 x 30 mm in size. It is expected though these two variant chargers will cap out at 100W.

Aukey has said that the new Omnia series range will be able to be purchased online and in retail stores in Q2 2020 in black and white colours but it is unclear whether they will be available to the Australian market.

    The strange thing is that these companies release chargers with dual USB-C ports (which are needed), but they neglect to do the same with their powerbanks.

    Dual USB-C is needed even more with a powerbank, as you need one as an input to charge the battery, and one as an output to charge your phone at the same time. In fact, triple USB-C ports would be even better, considering most mid & high-end phones + Nintendo devices use USB-C.

    Definitely agree – a dual-USB-C device gives you the possibility of using a powerbank effectively as a mini UPS for USB-C powered devices. It’s surprising these really don’t exist.

    I wish they would implement PPS with the new chargers coming out. Seems like Samsung and very few others have it, so options are vastly limited.
