Gomo, a mobile phone prepaid subscription MVNO sub-brand of Optus, has announced that it is making changes that users will see from 1 June 2023; we’ll no longer be offering our Gomo products to new customers.
Gomo launched during the pandemic in late 2020, around the same time Optus announced that it had brought another similar MVNO, Amaysim.
In a post on its website and emails to customers, Gomo has stated:
Reading between the lines, it seems that Optus could potentially move Gomo customers to either the parent brand or to Amaysim, particularly when there has been a question as to which of the two prepaid MVNO brands would survive. Given Amaysim has been around for some time compared to Gomo; it would make sense to keep the Amaysim brand instead.
Are you a Gomo customer or have a Gomo Sim? If you do have a Sim but not yet activated, you still have time, but the clock is ticking to the 10th of July, which is just a little over a month away.
