Setup: Unboxing and the app
In keeping with the current market, the setup of the unit is really simple. Ecovacs do it a bit better than a couple of others I’ve seen, however, with their setup being more graphic and — although only slightly — requiring less technical knowledge to complete the setup.
Once you’ve connected to the Wi-Fi and followed the rest of the instructions, your unit will map the accessible areas for cleaning. You can restrict this through a couple of pathways, shutting doors, placing deliberate obstructions, or simply setting a “no-go” zone once your mapping is complete.
A word to the wise: Despite the instructions, the connection will just work far smoother if you’re on a dedicated 2.4Ghz network. The results: Can a robot vacuum keep a high foot traffic area clean?
Since some of my first interactions with a robot vac, the technology has come a very long way. Previously I had labelled them as a way to “have a tidy” or “prevent your living space steadily getting dirtier” but now; they’re a viable option as a regular clean. You’ll still need to do a full, deep clean manually from time to time because — despite the advancement and the rotating brush pulling dirt and grime from the edge of the room into the vac — the corners are still not 100%. After a couple of cleans, the space was noticeably cleaner and just getting in the habit of emptying the dustbin once a week really didn’t take much effort at all. I’m truly a fan of being able to trigger manual cleans if you’ve got someone coming by, or simply scheduling the vac to do a quick once over every day or two will make a very clear difference to your home or workspace.
While many of the available options on the market provide similar results, I still feel like ECOVACS offers one of the best value for money solutions to your automated cleaning solutions. The N20 Plus can be purchased from ECOVACS online store or via Amazon.Disclosure Statement
