Motorola has begun inviting press to a launch event scheduled for the 4th of September, at Motorola’s headquarters in Chicago.
The invite is in the form of a ‘Cootie Catcher’ which some will be more familiar as a childrens origami creation from their primary school days. The invite opens to advise the recipient to ‘Choose a new experience’, before flashing up four graphics in each colourfully coloured quadrant showing the outline of two phones, a circular watch and what appears to be a bluetooth earpiece.
As you can see, the phones each show a letter on screen – a G and an X, indicating that the launch should be for the Moto X+1 and the Moto G2, both follow ups from the Moto X and Moto G respectively. The watch of course will be the long awaited Moto 360 Android Wear smartwatch. What the earpiece is, we honestly have no idea.
There will be more details sent to lucky recipients, as the announcement approaches. We’re hoping the recent leak of the Moto G2 at an Australian retailer means we’ll see the phone here soon, and we hope tosee the Moto X+1 and Moto 360 here soon as well.
I’m really considering the Moto X+1 to be a worthy upgrade from my N4. I only hope that the physical size of it will be similar to the Moto X.
september’s looking to be a good month for tech. Can’t wait for Moto 360
