Vodafone is continuing the rollout of its 850 Mhz 4G+ network, with Perth the latest city to benefit.
The carrier reports that it’s switched on 236 4G+ sites in Perth, following successful rollouts in Victoria, South Australia, New South Wales, and Queensland. They’re aiming to add another 40 sites before Christmas.
Vodafone’s promised that its 4G coverage would reach 95% of Australia’s metropolitan population by the end of the year, and the expansion of the 4G+ network should help them to do it. 850 Mhz spectrum provides better indoor reception than the existing 1800 Mhz LTE network, much the same benefits that Telstra and Optus are seeking to provide with their own 700 Mhz networks.
These speeds makes sense for a USB modem than a phone….. I prefer Telstra 3g that saves battery. IMO 😛
