Announced back in June, the Nvidia Tegra K-1 powered all-in-one Acer Chromebase has made its first appearance on digital retailer Amazon, and best of all, it’s shipping to Australia.
With a bright 21.5″ 1080p display, the system is perfect for kiosk situations which require a web portal, or even just something to sit in the kitchen to act as a central hub for your home.
The Acer Chromebase uses an Nvidia Tegra K-1 processor clocked at 2.1GHz and comes with 4GB of DDR RAM. Storage wise the system could be a little better, with a minimal 16GB SSD installed, but there is a MicroSD memory slot for additional storage, as well as 2x USB 2.0 Ports and a single USB 3.0 port for USB drives.
The system is now available for purchase for US$429.99 with three levels of shipping available to get your new device to Australia:
- AmazonGlobal Standard Shipping (averages 9-12 business days) – US$34.89
- AmazonGlobal Expedited Shipping (averages 7-11 business days) – US$46.89
- AmazonGlobal Priority Shipping (averages 2-5 business days) – US$89.89
You’ll have to factor in a converter for the US plug on the machine, but other than that you should be right to go. If you’re interested in the Acer Chromebase, this may be your best shot as Acer Australia have not been forthcoming with any release confirmation. Head over to Amazon and check it out now.
I would love this for home, We had a $2000 iMac essentially so she could go on facebook..
This could be a good replacement. Wonder what performance would be like? anyone heard reviews?
The non touch one is $349, but doesn’t ship to Australia, one of my fav features is the keyboard looks like it is full sized with number pad, home, end, etc.
Sorry the non touch one is us$334.90 and is in stock, but not shipping to Aus,
The touch one currently say usually 3-5 weeks.
