Kayo Sports made quite an impact when launched, offering instant access to major sports without the need for a Foxtel subscription. This prompted many users, including Chris from our team, to ditch Foxtel outright because of the reduced value. Now, for some sports, you’ll be able to get access to some major events for free through Kayo Freebies.
This kicks off with the Mt Panorama 500 which is the first event of the Repco Supercars Championship of 2021. This is a move sure to ruffle some feathers at Channel 7, the free to air partner of Supercars Australia. While there aren’t any official confirmations, it’s understood that some A League (including women’s league) will also be covered. From a pure consumer perspective, this is a wonderful addition to the service. It’s opening the door for more users to see more sports, for free. From a business perspective, it’s clearly a way to get more people online. While users won’t need to add a credit card to access Freebies, you can bet that there will be special offers and incentives to buy.
