We received a tip from an Ausdroid reader letting us know that Allphones stores have begun to receive plastic dummy units of the Samsung Galaxy Note II. These units should be on display in stores today, so you can pick one up and get a feel for the size and shape of the device.

Notably, the device is yet to appear on the Allphones site, which would seem to indicate that they’re not quite ready to sell you one yet. We’re told that stock – Australian 4G units – is expected to arrive within the coming week.

If you’re thinking of buying a Galaxy Note II, you should check out our review of the device. We don’t know if Allphones will stick to Samsung’s local RRP of $899 for outright purchases or compete with online grey imported 3G and 4G units from Kogan and Mobicity.

Before discovering the Nexus One, Jason thought he didn't need a smartphone. Now he can't bear to be without his Android phone. Jason hails from Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane depending on his mood and how detailed a history you'd like. A web developer by day with an interest in consumer gadgets and electronics, he also enjoys reading comics and has a worryingly large collection of Transformers figures. He'd like to think he's a gamer, but his Wii has been in a box since he moved to Sydney, and his PlayStation Vita collection is quite lacking. Most mornings you'll find him tilting at various windmills on Twitter - follow @JM77 and say hi!

I enjoyed my N7100 3G, but that can’t compare to my new N7105 4G. $695 from Unique Mobiles and got it in 3 days. Such a beast of a phone. My Wife loves her N7100 too!

How did you secure that price??
