After only recently rolling out their Zenfone 2 to the US, Taiwanese manufacturer Asus has taken the wraps off their latest phone – the ZenFone Selfie.
With an emphasis on ‘selfies’, the Zenfone Selfie comes with dual front/rear 13MP PixelMaster camera sensors, which offer dual-LED Real tone Flash. The ZenFone Selfie uses s an f/2.0 lens on the rear, while the front gets a f/2.2 aperture lens on the front. The Zenfone 2 front-facing camera will also capture the group selfies, with an 88 degree field of view, which expands to 140 degrees with the selfie panorama mode.
There’s also an extension accessory, which acts like a swing stand, but Asus hasn’t expanded on availability or details for this.
In terms of phone, the Asus Zenfone Selfie comes with a 5.5″ FullHD 1920×1080 IPS screen, with 178° viewing angle. The Zenfone Selfie is powered by a 64-bit Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor.
There’s not enough to expand on hardware specs from the Asus launch doco, but we’ll be following up with Asus Australia on availability of the ZenFone Selfie here, though with the ZenFone 2 set to launch here later this year, timing wise, Asus may be a bit too early to drum up hype.
