We haven’t seen a Huawei Honor branded handset here in Australia since the original Honor went on-sale back in 2012. The Honor line has gone from strength to strength overseas, and now it’s back, with the Honor 4x now on-sale exclusively at JB Hifi.
The Honor 4x is a mid-range phone, with high-end aspirations. At $349 it’s a great price, and spec wise the phone ticks a lot of boxes when it comes to hardware. Fitting into the mid-range phone category, the phone comes in only black colouring with:
- 5.5” 1280 x 720 Resolution TFT IPS HD Screen
- Kirin Octa Core 1.2GHz 64 bit CPU
- 2GB RAM
- 8GB on-board storage with microSD card slot up to 32GB
- 13MP Rear Camera with LED Flash and support for 1080P recording and 5MP Front Camera
- Wi-Fi IEEE802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS/AGPS/Glonass
- 4G LTE
- Android 4.4 (KitKat)
- 3,000 mAh Li-Polymer Battery
- 152.9 x 77.2 x 8.7 mm @ 165grams
While the phone isn’t quite up to the premium mid-range phones we’re seeing arrive from the likes of Alcatel with the Idol 3, its still a decent phone.
Huawei Australia haven’t added the phone to their devices page as yet, but you can check it out on the JB HiFi website.
Nice, but shame about the screen resolution for a 5.5″ phone though.
Does this phone only say “Honor”? 😀
