The Motorola 2016 line-up has begun leaking already in the lead up to a suspected July launch, with a possible Moto X 2016 appearing in the wild last week, now a leak about the Moto G 2016 has hit the internet.

The leak comes courtesy of solid internet leaker Evan Blass via his @evleaks twitter account. Evan posted this shot of what appears to be a square, front-mounted fingerprint scanner on a phone he’s calling the Moto G4 Plus.

The square fingerprint sensor matches the square sensor in the previous leak lending further credence to the rumour. The use of a front mounted fingerprint sensor is likely a design decision which will leave the companies familiar Bat Wing logo in the dimple on the rear in full sight rather than integrated with a fingerprint sensor.

Whether the fingerprint sensor is the differentiating spec when it comes to the ‘Standard’ and ‘Plus’ versions of the Moto G4 will come to light at launch. We’ll have to stay tuned until then for more information.
