MotorolaLenovo has been busy refreshing their Moto line of mobiles this year, with the Moto G4 Plus now available in Australia and the Moto Z and Moto Mods arriving soon. The Moto E has also gotten a refresh, with Lenovo announcing the Moto E gen 3 in the UK.
As with previous generation Moto E handsets, the gen 3 is fairly low-spec with a 5″ HD display, quad-core processor and 2800mAh battery which Lenovo says will get you through a day. The cameras get a bump to 8MP on the rear and a full 5MP on the front.
According to TheVerge, there’s no mention of internal storage but the usual 8GB is expected, but a microSD card slot should help you out here.
As usual, the Moto E will come with a recent version of Android with Marshmallow pre-installed, but there’s no indication of an Android Nougat update just yet.
Lenovo will begin selling the phone in the UK in September for £99. We’ve asked Motorola Australia about the possibility of the Moto E gen 3 arriving here in Australia and we’ll update when they let us know.
Now that Lenovo have ruined the Moto G by only offering the 4th gen model with a 5.5″ screen (oh how I miss the beautiful 4.5″ first generation Moto G LTE!) the E3 seems like the way to go, at least it’s no bigger than the Moto G 3.
Used to be able to get the MotoG for £99, seems like they have been trying to push the brand from budget to mid-tier to leave room for the MotoE at the bottom.
Wish it will have NFC
