The flagship season is upon us and two of the most hotly anticipated devices are set to hit the market in the next few months. A new report has nailed down announcement and launch dates for both Korean manufacturers flagships.
The report comes from Korean IT News, who have spoken with ‘a high-ranking official for a mobile network provider’ about the South Korean launches of the phone.
The LG G6 will be announced this Sunday at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. According to their source, there will be a 7 day pre-order period from the 2nd to 9th of March with sales starting in South Korea at least on March 10th, the global release date has not yet been decided on but LG has traditionally had staggered rollouts for their phone launches.
The Samsung launch for the Galaxy S8 will begin with the announcement of the phone on March 29th in New York with sales starting on the 21st of April. Samsung has apparently not decided on a pre-order period, though apparently April 13th is being bandied about as a possible start date.
We’ll know more about the LG G6, and we hope to nail down more information about their plans for release in Australia (and around the world) at the event. Samsung remain tight lipped at this stage, so we await further developments.
