According to a new report from Korea, LG is moving ahead with plans to launch their V30 handset earlier than last year with an announcement reportedly set for IFA.
The report from ETNews, says that LG will launch the V30 on the press day that precedes the opening of IFA, the European consumer electronics show held every September in Berlin. IFA 2017 this year runs from September 1st to 6th, and has previously seen launches of big name handsets like Samsungs Note series before Samsung began holding events separate from trade shows.
According to the report, the V30 will come with a bezel-less OLED display which will include a secondary display, a defining characteristic of the V series previously.
The V30 will come with a 3,200mAh non-removable battery as well as a dual-cameras, and be powered by a Snapdragon 835 processor. LG will be offering the phone in 32GB, 64GB,and 128GB models, though this will likely be region dependent.
LG will be hosting pre-orders for the phone in Korea where the phone will cost 800,000 KRW (around $926AUD) for the 64GB model.
The major competition for the LG V series is the Samsung Note, which has been rumoured for an August announcement. Timing is everything and we could see the two Korean giants going head to head in the latter half of the year when they launch their phones.
