Google’s Pixel event is getting very leaky with Google Home Mini and an updated Google Daydream View headset already leaking. Now it’s the Pixel 2 XL leaking with press renders of the phone in Black & White and ‘Just Black’ showing up.
It seems Google is owning the ‘Panda Nexus’ tag and going with a Black and White colour option this year, although there does appear to be a splash of colour there with a red power button (that looks Hawt!). It will also come in a plain Black which is being referred to as ‘Just Black’ (not so Hawt).
According to Droid-Life who supplied the renders, the phone will be available in both 64GB and 128GB storage options. The 64GB model will cost $849USD (that’s $1059.66AUD at our current exchange rate), while the 128GB model will set you back $949USD (that’s $1184.47AUD).
There’s nothing new in the renders, the camera still appears to jut out a bit and the fingerprint sensor is just below the glass panel. A note is that Google appears to still be going with a monochromatic ‘G’ logo instead of a multi-coloured G.
We’ll see the new Pixel, Pixel 2 XL, Google Home Mini, updated Daydream View and possibly even a new Chromebook Pixel at the October 4th event. It’s so close you can almost taste it.
Do you like the new colour option?
Did anyone else see the tv ad last night? It’s the same as the video they released a little while ago.
Still single camera?? That’s not aligned with other premium phones.
LG better ramp up the V30 production lines – they could have a hit on their hands unless this comes bundled with something pretty spectacular to justify that $200+ overprice.
And it’s been beaten with the ugly stick.
I really like that white/black colour option. Will probably get that when it’s released.
