Samsung has announced a new colour variant of their phenomenally successful Galaxy S8 handset, with a new Burgundy Red coloured Galaxy S8 coming out in Korea and to other ‘select’ markets.
It’s pretty commonplace for new colour variants of mobile phones to be released mid-cycle in order to refresh interest in a handset. Samsung has said that the handset will be coming to Korea beginning on November 28, before rolling out to select markets, so it’s still unclear if it will be heading here.
The handset will join Midnight Black, Orchid Gray, Coral Blue, Arctic Silver and Maple Gold as colour options for the handset, most of which are available to buy directly from Samsung Australia.
The Galaxy S8 in Burgundy Red is surprisingly good looking, with a deeper shade really adding a classy, yet strikingly stand out touch to the phone. The colour is only noticeable really from the back and sides, with the handset having black bezels in the little space remaining on the front not taken up by the Infinity Display.
Samsung has said that specific availability details will be announced in each market, so we’ll have to wait for further information from Samsung Australia as to whether we’ll be getting this model here.
