The 2018 phone launch schedule lays ahead of us, and while the usual cadence of smartphone releases at the high-end is generally well known, what we’ll see in the mid-range isn’t as well known. It appears that Sony is set to announce a new mid-range XA series handset with a new leak showing the handset.

The phone is very similar to the Xperia XA1 Ultra in terms of design, though brings the fingerprint sensor to the rear. The handset includes dual front-facing cameras as well as a front-facing LED flash making for a fun Selfie cameraphone.

The phone system information display shows the phone will run Android 8.0 (Oreo), and this particular one will be model# H4233, though a second H4213 variant will also be available according to XperiaBlog.

Rumoured specs for the phone include a 6″ FullHD (1920×1080) resolution display, powered by a Snapdragon 630 SoC with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of on-board storage – no mention of microSD card slot.

It’s likely that we’ll see the XA2 announced alongside perhaps some other nice Sony Xperia phones at Mobile World Congress and we’ll hopefully bring you all that info live from Barcelona.

Ugly design.
Huge bezels and sharp corners.

Other Sony products have very nice designs, so why not their phones ?
