As we saw with the Pixel 3 XL before it, it appears the Russian tech community have gotten their hands on the next Pixel phone – the Pixel 3 Lite, codenamed ‘Sargo’ a little early. Just as they did with the Pixel 3 XL, they’re now showing it off to the world before it’s even announced.
Russian site Wylsa has compared the Pixel 3 Lite against a number of handsets, including the Pixel 3 XL, the iPhone XR and more. When compared against the Pixel 3 XL, the Pixel 3 Lite is a smaller model, with the Pixel 3 XL’s 6.4″ display showing just how small the 5.56″ display on the Pixel 3 Lite is. The phone body is about the same width, but the main difference in body size appears to be the height.
The phone has also been put up against the iPhone XS and XR, Nokia 3310 and more over on Wylsa, as well as the original Pixel phone (in ‘Really Blue’, though you can barely tell with the white front).
As you’d expect from a ‘Lite’ version of the Pixel phones, the Pixel 3 Lite will be made of plastic rather than the more premium glass finish on the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL. The Lite model also gets the lower end Qualcomm Snapdragon 670, with 4GB RAM, 64GB of storage, a pretty decent 12MP rear camera sensor, a single 8MP front camera and a 2915mAh battery.
No announcements have been forthcoming or teased at this stage, so we’re going to have to watch the Russian tech blogs for more info on this one, at least until Google is willing to say something official.
