Fears that the Xperia XZ4 Compact may have been dropped from Sony’s upcoming 2019 line-up have been allayed a little with case renders for the phone, as well as the full sized Xperia XZ4 surfacing online.

The case renders have been dropped by manufacturer Olixar who has a number of renders of both handsets ensconced in their cases on their website. There’s a range of case styles for both the Xperia XZ4 and Xperia XZ4 Compact on their site, ranging from basic TPU cases up to cases with leather and carbon fibre backing.

The renders for the cases show that as far as cameras go, the phones will differ vastly with the Xperia XZ4 shown with a triple camera array, while the smaller XZ4 Compact has a single camera sensor.

The triple camera array on the XZ4 was first shown off in CAD renders based on case designs late last year. The cases and CAD renders are likely based off similar information, so it’s either corroborating, or it’s an echo chamber.

Sony is likely to announce their new Xperia XZ4 phones at the press conference at Mobile World Congress and we don’t have long to wait to see what Sony can do.

Who actual cares what Sony are doing in mobile technology. They have shown no interest in bringing anything new to australia in 2 years. The premium xz2 never saw the light of day in Australia and same for the xz3 available worldwide except Australia since its debut in Way October 2018. So even if this is an early look at the Xz4 chances are like the past two major phone release I have low confidence we will see the Xz4 anytime… Read more »
