Optus has quietly added another 5G device to its Prepaid lineup with the Samsung Galaxy A13 5G, available through the Optus website and your local Optus store.
The Samsung Galaxy A13 5G is a budget mid-range 5G device and comes with a 6.5-inch Infinity-V Display (1600 x 720) @ 90Hz refresh rate.
Power the Galaxy A13 5G under the hood is an Octa-core (2.2GHz,2GHz) Mediatek MT6833V processor alongside an ARM Mali G57 MC2 GPU and offers 4GB RAM and 128GB of onboard storage, which can be expanded to 1TB via microSD card.
In terms of cameras, the Samsung Galaxy A13 5G comes with a triple rear camera set up made up of a 50MP (Wide) sensor lens, 2MP (Depth) sensor lens and a 2MP (Macro) sensor lens. The front-facing camera is a 5MP lens.
The Samsung Galaxy A13 5G comes with Android 12 right out of the box and also comes with a side fingerprint sensor built into the power/standby button it seems, alongside Bluetooth version 5.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac 2.4G+5GHz, VHT80, 3.5mm audio jack and USB-C port.
Sadly though, it does seem the Samsung Galaxy A13 5G doesn’t come with NFC, which is a litter perplexing given digital payments have certainly become the norm since the start of the pandemic.
The Samsung Galaxy A13 5G comes in black colour only and can be purchased from the Optus Prepaid website or local Optus store for $349 – of course being locked onto the Optus network, although you can pick up an unlocked version for additional $30 through JB Hi-Fi for $379.
