TPG brand, Vodafone, has quietly announced two new smartphones to its budget pre-paid devices, both of which are white-labelled Mobiwire devices, the V Smart 4G and the V Pro 4G.
Both devices are possibly being added to ensure further choice for 3G-only customers who are yet to switch over to a 4G or 5G-enabled device, given its parent company TPG telecom announced in September that the Vodafone and TPG 3G network will be shut down by December 2023.
V Smart 4G
The V Smart 4G is a smaller device and the more budget end of two devices now available.
The V Smart 4G comes with a 5.45-inch FWVGA+ IPS display (960 x 442 pixels @ 193ppi) and is powered by a Quad-core 1.3GHz MediaTek MT8765WB processor with 2GB RAM and 32GB of onboard storage which can be expanded to 128GB via MicroSD card.
In terms of cameras, the V Smart 4G comes with a single 8MP camera sensor whilst the front facing is a 5MP camera sensor lens.
The V Smart 4G comes with a 3.5mm audio jack and runs Android 12 (Go Edition) right out of the box. There is also Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n 2.4GHz, Bluetooth version 5.0LE and comes with a micro USB 2.0 USB charger port and cord, which is interesting given the current USB-C standard for new devices.
The V Smart 4G can be purchased only through your local Vodafone store for $129.
V Pro 4G
The V Pro 4G whilst still being a budget device, does offer some different features and specs to its smaller brother listed above.
The V Pro 4G comes with a 6.52-inch HD+ IPS display (1640 x 720 pixels @ 274ppi) and is powered by a Quad-core 2.0GHz MediaTek Helio A22 MT6761 processor along with 2GB RAM, 32GB of onboard storage which can be expanded to 128GB via MicroSD card.
In terms of cameras, the V Pro 4G comes with a triple rear camera set-up made up of a 13MP main sensor lens, 2MP Depth sensor lens and 2MP Macro lens. The front-facing camera is a 5MP sensor lens.

The V Pro 4G can only be purchased through your local Vodafone store for $149.
