Motorola, a Lenovo company, has this morning confirmed its latest foldable smartphone, the Moto Razr 2022 edition, has launched in Australia. The Razr smartphones are a nod to the original Razr flip phones from many decades ago, of which I used to own one and certainly do miss quite a bit if I am honest.

According to Motorola, the new Moto Razr 2022 edition has been boldly reimagined for 2022, with a new Flex View hinge, 50MP camera system, and industry-leading Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 performance and cinema quality Dolby Atmos sound.

The Moto Razr 2022 comes with a 6.7-inch FHD+ main display offering a 144Hz refresh rate. The innovative friction hinge holds the device open in Flex View, so it can stand on its own at multiple angles allowing you to work and play hands-free or also be able to split view the main display to enable multitasking on another level.

There is also a smaller screen which Motorola is calling QuickView, to allow you the ability to see your notifications and more on the front of the new Moto Razr 2022 edition. The smaller front screen is a 2.7-inch FHD+ display offering a 60Hz refresh rate.

Powering the Moto Razr 2022 edition is a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 Mobile Platform, alongside 8GB RAM and 256GB of onboard storage.

In terms of cameras, the Moto Razr 2022 comes with a dual rear camera set-up made up of a 50MP main camera lens and a 13MP AF wide/ macro lens. The front-facing camera is a 32MP camera for really crisp selfies.

The Moto Razr 2022 edition will run Android 12 out of the box. It has a full range of connectivity, including Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax/Wi-Fi 6e, Bluetooth version 5.2, NFC, a Side fingerprint reader and, of course, USB-C charging.

The Motorola Razr 2022 is available in Satin Black colour and will be on sale from today for $1,599.00 through the normal retail and online channels including JB Hi-Fi, The Good Guys, Officeworks, Big W, Mobileciti and Lenovo.com.au.

I love the concept, I really do but hard to switch away from a Pixel and its camera. I feel that those phones have great features such as the folding and notifications system but the camera, although on paper looks great, won’t be a Pixel quality.

Price seems good for a foldable compared to others but for that money, I’d rather get Pixel 7 Pro for less 🙂 yeah, it doesn’t fold…but I can have 512GB for the same price.

P7 Pro cost way less for people that preorderd it.
Got $850 trade in for P6 Pro 512Gb ($550 + $300 bonus value) + got free $100 JB Hi-Fi voucher + Google TV 4k + Google Pixel Hub 2.

P7 Pro has the best camera on a phone – period!
