Following their surprise move to offer unlimited 5G data on mobile plans, Vodafone has launched two new 5G home Internet options. Of course, there are a couple of catches, as a starting point, it’s only available at approved addresses.

The offerings are pretty simple:

  • $75 per month ($70 per month bundled with a mobile phone plan) including unlimited data with speeds up to 100Mbps
  • $85 per month ($80 per month bundled with a mobile phone plan) including unlimited data at Max 5G speed

There are a number of factors associated with 5G service delivery that can affect speeds. So it is — as always — worth checking the coverage maps and talking to the provider before committing to a new service. The good news though is that if you sign up before 31 January next year, you’ll get your first month free to test the product out and a free modem if you stay connected for 3 years.

Given the volatility of the mobile consumer base these days, Vodafone has continued to offer their satisfaction guarantee:

If you are not completely happy with Vodafone’s 5G Home Internet you can cancel the plan any time and for any reason. Simply pay any outstanding plan fees and return your modem in good working order within 30 days of cancellation.

Group Executive, New Business Development Craig Levy said:

“We know customers are hungry for the latest technology and want a fast, affordable home broadband solution that suits their needs, Customers also demand the easier set up process that wireless broadband can deliver. Simply switch on your modem in a suitable position and connect your devices to Wi-Fi and you’re on your way. No need to wait for a connection date or a technician to come to the house.”

Clearly, this service offering is aimed at users who are either trapped on inadequate NBN connections to their needs. Or perhaps are simply unable to get a reliable fixed service. It’s definitely something that users in approved areas could consider as a cheaper and viable option to NBN.

Customers can check their coverage and sign-up to Vodafone 5G Home Internet online, or by calling the Vodafone team on 1300 364 640.

Sounds like an advertorial, because you don’t mention any of the limitations of this plan like hotspot usage is capped to 30GB, can’t use this in a modem or share the data with other plans. With such limitations how is this a “viable option to NBN” ???I wonder how many people out there actually need more than 300GB of mobile data to be used exclusively on a phone, otherwise that $10 cheaper plan is a better buy.

zero coverage LOL

Actually not zero….. Vodafone is targeting 85% metro population coverage by the end of the year. Vodafone’s 5G network is currently available in over 600 Suburbs.
