vivo, a sub-brand of BBK electronics and OPPO, has today announced that it will be launching two new high speed smartphones into the Australian marketplace and are aimed at the budget conscious consumer who wants high end features without breaking the bank.
Both devices will be launching exclusively with Telstra through its pre-paid division and speaking at the launch of the new devices, Fred Liu, Managing Director at vivo Australia stated:

The vivo Y55 5G as the name suggest is a 5G smartphone that comes with a 6.58-inch FHD+ Incell screen (2408 x 1080) that is powered by an Octa-core MediaTek MT6833 Dimensity 700 processor with 4GB RAM and 128GB of onboard storage which can be expanded via MicroSD card but unsure the capacity limit for this.
The vivo Y55 5G comes with a triple rear camera set up made up of a 50MP main camera lens sensor, a 2MP macro lens, 2MP depth sensor lens. The front facing camera is an 8MP camera lens which should be fine for those who spend a lot of time on Instagram.
Y55 5G runs Android 12 with vivo’s own Funtouch 12 OS running on top of Android 12. The Y55 5G also comes with Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, dual-band, Wi-Fi Direct, hotspot, Bluetooth version 5.1, NFC, Li-Po 5000 mAh, non-removable battery that supports 18W fast charging.
The vivo Y55 5G will be available and Starlight Black and available from your local Telstra store or through the Telstra Pre-Paid website for $299.00
vivo Y21s
The vivo Y21s is more aimed at the mobile enthusiast on the go according to the company and comes with 6.51-inch HD+ Halo Display (720 x 1600 @ 270 PPI) and is powered by a Mediatek MT6769V/CU Helio G80 processor with 4GB RAM and 128GB onboard storage which can be expanded by MicroSD card but unsure of the capacity limit with this option.
The Y21s comes with a triple rear camera set up made up of a 50MP main sensor lens, 2MP macro sensor lens and a 2MP depth sensor lens. The front facing camera is an 8MP which should be enough for those insta-famous selfies.
The Y21s runs Android 11 with vivo’s Funtouch OS 11.1 running on top of Android 11. The Y21s comes with Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, dual-band, Wi-Fi Direct, hotspot, Bluetooth version 5.0, NFC, fingerprint sensor, Li-Po 5000 mAh, a non-removable battery which also supports vivo’s 18W fast charging.
The vivo Y21s will be available in Midnight Blue colour from either your local Telstra store or via the Telstra Pre-paid website for $199.
