It looks as if the beginnings of Samsung’s Android Nougat roll-out for its flagship Galaxy S7 range could be just around the corner, with a keen-eyed S7 user spotting the Galaxy Beta program app appearing on Samsung’s Galaxy Apps store.
The app has been available before, but it’s been updated this morning to note that Android 7.0 Nougat is on the way. This might have snuck out a bit prematurely, because there’s now an error when trying to access this. We’ve been unable to get it to work as well.
To see if you can access it, you can search on the Galaxy Apps store for ‘Galaxy beta program’. Alternatively, hit this link on your Samsung S7 or S7 Edge and try your luck.
Makes me nervous that they’re only in beta, was hoping we’d see nougat before the end of the year…
They generally do beta like this right at the end stage. I’d expect it before Xmas.
They don’t have the note 7 to update, so should definitely focus on these devices!
I get this when hitting the link. I bought mine from Samsung Australia website.
I got the App from APK mirror but it comes up with a server error even when using the Tunnel bear app
Yep I get the same. I’m thinking it’s S7 Edge only at this stage.
Nope, I think it’s a region block as I have an S7 edge
It’s based on your phone’s CSC
Yup, that makes sense. So if you flash UK firmware you’re food to go?
I’d assume so, I think that worked last year with the S6 but I’m not certain. I’d suggest waiting for Samsung’s announcement and for the server’s to go live before erasing your phone.
I just flashed the Nougat beta onto my phone (UK version) it’s a nice change! definitely a breath of fresh air. looks nice so far. will report back if anyone is interested.
