Vodafone has been aggressively chasing the huge market of Australian’s who love to travel internationally, but don’t love the traditionally expensive mobile roaming fees normally associated with using their phones overseas. With their $5 per day international roaming plan, Vodafone has hit on a great idea, and today, for customers travelling to New Zealand it gets better – you can now get 4G data, while travelling in the land of the long white cloud.
Vodafone customers who qualify for the $5 a day international roaming will automatically roam onto the Vodafone New Zealand 4G network – which according to Ookla, is the 2nd fastest 4G Network in the world, second only to South Korea. The 4G Network is an added bonus, which you will get in New Zealand along with all your usual inclusions from your monthly plans. The plan is activated as soon as you make a call, send a text or use data. But it’s on a day-to-day basis, don’t use your phone one day? You won’t be charged. $5 international roaming is available automatically to Vodafone customers who joined up after April 23rd this year, but if you connected to an eligible plan before then you can activate it through the MyVodafone app.
New Zealand is the No. 1 international holiday destination for Australian tourists, with more than a million Aussies travelling there yearly – must be the Lord of the Rings tourism. So, if you’re heading to New Zealand, as a Vodafone customer, you have one less thing to worry about.
Have tested out Vodafone’s 4G roaming in NZ and it’s super quick.
Is the title of this post meant to be “Vodafone customers can now receive 4G data in *New Zealand* using $5 roaming”?
It was – it’s what happens when I post at quarter to 6. Changed.
