In a significant development, details of NBN Co’s new Network Termination Device (NTD) designed for its upcoming 2 gigabit plan have been leaked. The new device is set to support the company’s fastest residential and business plans yet, marking a major milestone in Australia’s broadband infrastructure.

According to source on the whirpool forum, user “Jtingwell” posted the photo of the leak and said it was confirmed by internet provider launtel in a public post.

After checking the photo of the leaked NTD:

  • The photo from a leaked document by NBN stated that the NTD will offer 2 gigabit plan for FTTP and HFC users
  • The photo shows that there will be two new NTDs: a 1 port and a 4 port

Internet providers will be testing this new hardware from the 14 of April 2025 with new speedtest capability and customers will be able to order the 4 ports NTD by paying 100 dollars fee.
