Take this with a grain of salt, but a reader has sent in that he went into his local Optus shop to check out getting a new phone on a plan, and Optus’s internal computers listed the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 as $0 upfront on the $49 ‘yes’ Social Cap. That’s $30 less than the original plan & competitors.
Let’s hope this hits the Optus site ASAP!
This is confirmed and live on the optus site
My girlfriend is now on this plan, s it is real. Apparently it might change at the end of the month though
It also comes with a free Sony PSP, if a store has stock :).
really that pretty sweet
those bastards! oh and in other news Nuvifone A50 is out next month on $49

Goodness that’s ugly.. *writes up post*
looking even further the Desire is $730, the nexus1 is $850 and the Galaxy S is $840 and all of these phones can be purchased for 0 on a $49 cap through various providers…
And Telstra is having a field day selling the X10 for $1080
It wouldn’t surprise me, that is actually what the phone should have cost from the beginning. Considering you can get the X10 outright for $630 which is roughly the same price as the Milestone which came out for $0 on a 49 cap.
