Back in April we reported (via Gizmodo) that Millennius Australia were working on an Android device and were hoping to have it released by May. It’s now August and I have been informed that the Apanda has been finalised and should be ready for sale through Millennius’s online store soon.
Some juicy specs:
- Android 2.1
- 3.2″ Capacitive Display
- 320×480 Resolution
- 600MHz Qualcomm CPU

From the specs is the price seems fair to me as it is just a tiny bit faster (I think at least in MHz) than the wildfire and has more on board memory but a majority of the rest of the spec are the same the $50-$100 seems fair. This all said I am not sure I would buy it.

I dont agree with you guys.. If you read the PC Authority review, it has some credibility as it is made at foxconn – The same factory as Apple and HTC. So the quality will be there. I also Think it is a very good price comparing to the Big brands of Motorola, Sony Ericcson, LG and Garmin which have 1.5 Android versions. Also the following have resistive touchscreen – Motorola DEXT and Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 (no multitouch) and LG Optimus (resistive screen). The resolution alone is way too poor for this kind of money.
Put it on a stand with the live wallpapers running and offer it for zero dollars on a decent $29/mth plan and I reckon you would get some interest. It’s a poor man’s nexus one, well, sort of.
Plus it has the same resolution and similar processor of the Dream, which came out nearly 2 years ago… It’s a mid-range phone at a high-end price from a new manufacturer, I don’t anticipate this going well.
