When reading back through my last post, I noticed a device I wasn’t quite sure of, the HTC Marvel. A quick Google will let you know that this is the codename for the HTC Wildfire S, and it would make sense for Telstra to launch this device in the near future as they did push its predecessor, the HTC Wildire, as a luxury-type prepaid device. The specs of the Wildfire S look far more promising than the original.
- Android 2.3 w/ Sense UI v3.0
- 600MHz CPU
- 3.2″ HVGA (Goodbye, QVGA) Capacitive Display – 256k colours
- 512MB RAM / ROM
- 5MP Camera w/ Flash & Auto-focus
- Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth 3 & GPS
- HSPA 7.56Mbps / 384Kbps
We’re hoping Telstra (if they indeed announce it) will throw it on prepaid just like they did with the original. Although no pricing & launch dates are available, we’d have to estimate that the Wildfire would cost $350-400 on Prepaid, though we’d love to see Telstra prove us wrong and make it cheaper.
legend rebrand
well more like the Aria, but same specs
legend rebranded aria, aria rebranded marvel
I saw this phone on Mobicity the other day and was wondering what was the deal because you can’t buy it yet. http://www.mobicity.com.au/htc-wildfire-s.html
Wouldn’t this need to be well under $300 to compete with the huawei x5?
Why on earth would Telstra try and compete?
