Well how about that folks, Vodafone have just announced via their blog that they will also be stocking the HTC EVO 3D. Voda are far more vague with their release date, saying that they’ll announce pricing “closer to the date“. I don’t know about you, but I’m not too sure where the date is placed on the calender; we’ll let you know if/when we find out. This means that Telstra and Vodafone will both have the EVO 3D and Optus already have the LG Optimus 3D, so 3D capable Android devices will be available from the 3 major carriers.

For more details on the EVO 3D check out our earlier post. A review is coming soon, if that’s your kinda thing.

i wonder if the 3d will be better than the LG Optimus 3D, Because i went into telechoice to see it and i was disappointed to say the least.
If i want a phone that looks like a holographic tazo then i’ll just go get a tazo instead haha

Wonder if Vodaphone is gonna launch the normal 900mhz version or the special versions that run 850mhz like Telstra~~

I imagine it will run on their 850MHz network as their 900MHz is (to put it bluntly) up shit creek.

Actually their 900 is not up shit creek. its their 2100 network thats up…. The 900 frequency is more a regional frequency. in areas where gsm 900(2g) isnt used. which they installed before they acquired hutch’s 850 frequency

Well when I went to visit family out in regional Vic, Vodafone’s network was quite lackluster.

Even when I used their 850MHz network at South Yarra — the same place they have a sign saying “check out our new network” — it was *really* slow. If their LTE is better than Telstra’s, I’ll switch.

Well there are two major issues with vodafone’s network. one is coverage, the other is bandwidth/congestion. The coverage has greatly improved with the lower frequency(850) for ppl who have phones that support it.  problem is the bandwidth/congestion. Vodafones equipment is still stuck on the 7.2mbps. They also have bad back haul coverage to their towers(not enough fiber). We should really start seeing changes in the next few months with the new Huawei single RAN equipment that will push their network to 42mbps HSPA+ and with TPG’s(pipe) contract coming into effect with TPG installing new fiber in cities. I cant remember who has the contract for regional… Read more »

if the past is any thing to go by, you can replace the coming soon in vodafones blog with “coming much later”
