It appears that Sony Ericsson are doing what they do best: leaking their devices months before they’re even announced. A couple of days ago we wrote an article about how the Nozomi was to be called the Xperia Arc HD; today we’re seeing photos of the Xperia Arc HD hit the web along with some speculated specifications which are as follows.

  • 4.3-inch 1280×720 (341ppi) Capacitive Display
  • 1.5GHz Dual-Core CPU
  • Android 2.3.5 (Though it could launch at CES with ICS)
  • 1GB RAM
  • Front & Rear Cameras of unknown MP

There’s also an LED strip that runs across the front of the device (near the bottom) to light up the buttons under the display, and there is also another on the back of the device in the exact same place which will no doubt be used for notifications. The presence of hardware buttons does mean that it will not use the on-screen buttons that are built into Ice Cream Sandwich. This can be seen as a positive as now the whole display can be used to show content instead of 90% of it.

I’m not too keen on the position of the battery icon/time on the status bar.

Only 691 Megs of RAM? SGSII has 840 Megs of user ram, I guess that’s the price to pay for 720p, more ram required for the GPU

Scott

sounds like the HTC Rezound spec wise so far

It looks (very) nice but until it is actually released, that is all I’m going to say about it. No need to get worked up over speculations.

A better looking galaxy nexus.. also the smaller screen would be slightly better than the huge 4.5 inch

If there was a device around the same size as the Galaxy S II with a 4.5-inch 720p display, I’d be all over it.
